Handheld Mixer: A Study of Brand Identity

Specific human factors where studied to enhance our knowledge of the human anatomy used during the mixing process. This knowledge gave us the ability to design as ergonomically as possible.

The existing market was studied to find opportunities and threats to our designs. We then began conducting physical research with many participants. We conducted questionnaires and interviews as well as recorded footage and photographed individuals while using mixers.

Then the conceptualization phase began. We started with a multi-stage sketching phase, only to select the best few and begin a multi-stage foam modeling phase. We used a similar yet more consolidated process in designing the attachments. We then selected our single best designs and began building working models.
